My 911 turbo

Welcome to "My 911 turbo" homepage.

The purpose of this page is to share pic's and info of my Porsche 911 turbo with my friends worldwide.

1993 Porsche 911 turbo 3.6 (Model type 965)

This was the very last 911 turbo with rear wheel drive only and large single turbo charger (after this model the 911 turbo became 4WD and with twin smaller turbo's)

The last of these "Muscle car" 911 turbos are described by many as "Beasts" and in the past have been nic-named "the widow maker" due to their savage acceleration and tail happy tendencies.

In reality however, its not all that bad in my opinion, and i believe the earlier 911 (930) turbos were far worse with their horrendous turbo lag, and light-switch power delivery.

The '93 turbo 3.6 was the first ever production Porsche to come with factory fitted 18 inch dia 3 piece wheels (made for this model by Speedline) and the now lengendary "Bid Red" brake calipers. The 965 turbo 3.6 was only made for a very short period of time, with only about 1,000 examples being produced, and only 83 in right hand drive like my example. With only 8 of this model residing in New Zealand, it is a very rare site on NZ roads and generally attracts a fair amount of attention.

In 1993 when this car was new it was well and truly a "Super Car". With performance stats like 0-100kph in 4.5 sec's and a top speed of 180mph it can still be classed as that today! The new selling price of NZ$300,000 sure reflected this tho!! That was a absolute truck load of money in 1993.
